General Description

Le Quartier Général is a student residence located in a former Brussels mansion. It was completely renovated in 2014, based on a permit issued by the commune of Ixelles. Its infrastructure is very modern and meets all safety standards required for this type of establishment.

It consists of 13 furnished rooms, including 7 doubles, 6 singles, and a 2 bedroom duplex apartment, all spread out on 6 floors. Each room has a private bathroom (with a shower).

The duplex is a 80 m2 apartment that includes 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 1 equipped kitchen, 1 living room, and 1 mezzanine study room.

Outside their private spaces, students enjoy the use of common areas that create the atmosphere and social feeling of the residence.

  • recreation area with bike storage, foosball, darts, etc.
  • kitchen / dining room overlooking a courtyard (with 2 dishwashers, 4 fridges, private food storage lockers, 2 microwave ovens)
  • lounge area
  • study room furnished with 3 PCs and a printer
  • basement with washers and dryers machines and a freezer

The entire residence has Wi-Fi access.

A fixed rate of 80 euros (see rates in the OVERVIEW OF ROOMS section), includes the use of all the infrastructure explained above, plus free Wi-Fi access, common areas cleaned twice a week, water, electricity, heating, use of study room with computers,....

Philosophy and operations

photo intérieur Quartier Général 9 photo intérieur Quartier Général 10

The Quartier Général management team wishes to operate a residence with a responsible and community feel. The house rules were written as guidelines rather than as restrictions, and they describe the operational methods and behaviour asked of the students, to ensure everyone a comfortable life that is conducive to learning.

A contact person visits the residence once a week to check that the rules are being followed and to collect students’ requests or comments.

We also ask that students practice ecologically responsible habits in the residence, which will help make them even more proud to belong to a small community that contributes –modestly – to improving the planet.
